Androgynous Image

It's a new feeling
A new look
Perhaps a new perspective....
It's really back to the basis of my image
A disaster turned miracle really
The pain that I endured to perceive a unique beauty
A beauty that was not reached
Far from expectations
For a moment, I saw myself as a hideous beast
And I drew anger from one look in the mirror
Of not recognizing the person starring back at me
Who was this phony, imitation of me?
Then it seemed clear to go back to ebony beauty
Which lead to another foolish mistake
Then like Rapunzel's nightmare
The worst had occurred
The locks fell to the floor
Descended from my scalp
It was dreadful to see
Then a sudden idea
Came over me
The uneven, messy locks
Needed to come off as well
And then, it happened
Cut after Cut after Cut
The face seemed to change along with the hair
and the hair complimented the face
and gave it a wonderful transformation
Now the eyes are more vibrant than before
the face seems more radiant
the lips are small like a cherubs'
These features seem almost androgynous
Which deepens the beauty ever more
What a relief
What a difference
A new side has awaken
And it will be projected
Everytime I walk out the door
